Pat's King of Steaks

Pat's is one of the two famous 9th and Passyunk steak shops. The history and rivalry with Geno's is usually covered, with few taking time to actually eat the steak. The best compliment I can give about Pat's is there steaks are smooth and simple. The bread is soft, the meat is tender and the onions and cheese are excellent compliments (though not as critical as the stake and bread). The whole shop is understated compared to the garish Geno's, and is a more positive image of South Philly. I really can't say much about a Pat's stake beyond the that it is the gold standard I use to measure cheesesteaks against, with a rare few ever meeting it's quality.
